The Joint Office for Compliance (JOC) with University of Iowa Health Care presents information on HIPAA Privacy and the policies that have been created for UI Health Care's Hybrid Entities (listed in the column to the right).

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule regulates the protection of patient health information. Hybrid Entities are required to comply with the rules and regulations of HIPAA. Hybrid entities perform covered and non-covered business functions as a single legal entity. The components of the University of Iowa hybrid entity under HIPAA are:
